Hi
We've recently built a custom server for ZoneMinder and fitted 2 TW68 chipset based DVR cards, we have the kernel module detecting the cards and can see and access /dev/video0 to /dev/video7 without issue but the problem is when trying to access the other channels/inputs on these cards from ZoneMinder.
Using LibVLC with the connection strings:
v4l2:///dev/video0:input=0
v4l2:///dev/video1:input=0
etc, works fine both when testing from the command line and inside ZoneMinder but when we try to access another input on that chip eg:
v4l2:///dev/video0:input=1
It fails and shows nothing, it seems like it could be some sort of locking on the chipset either performed by VLC and/or ZoneMinder?
Would appreciated any feedback/assistance.
Thanks,
John

Why did you not use the local source type?

It doesn't seem to work reliably with either V4L or V4L2, I could get one video online on /dev/video0 channel 0 but then setting up for channel 1 on the same device caused them both to come up blank.
