Hello all,
I'm trying to install NetCat on my system in order to PTZ a Escam G02 camera. After read carefully the NetCat wiki page, I couldn't understand the part relative to "save the sql statement shown in the commit to a file". Probably due I'm a very newbie in this world....
How to get the sql statement?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
NetCat installation
Re: NetCat installation
Oh. Not netcat the 25 year old unix utility. Of course. :-}
Yeah, I got no idea what they're on about either...

Re: NetCat installation
I don't think it matters to you; the comment that you might have to do that is *well* older than the 1.30.4 release, so I expect OnVIF probing will Just Work. Is it not?
Re: NetCat installation
Linux distro and version?
Re: NetCat installation
Raspbian Stretch Lite/kernel 4.9
Zoneminder 1.30.0
Also, I have tried to update to Zoneminder 1.30.4 without success. Continuing to try....
Thanks,

HI,
You are trying to get PTZ to work?
I have a cheap PTZ camera that identifes as a HI3518_IPNC. It supports PTZ. I followed instructions here and found that the Netcat.pm file would not work for this camera. I had to make a few changes to the Netcam.pm script to get the urls and profiles to match the cam. in the log i was always getting 400 bad request errors. After a lot of wiresharking and testing with a but of software that i know did work with the camera i found some of the URL's called int Netcat.pm did not match my camera.
tail /var/log/zm/zmcontrol.log
This is where I can see any error in the control.
I edited
sudo nano /usr/share/perl5/ZoneMinder/Control/Netcat.pm
and changed the following.
sub getCamParams
my $server_endpoint = "http://".$self->{Monitor}->{ControlAddress}."/event_service/0"; // not sure if this was needed.
sub autoStop // and do this for all fuctions you use. in my case only up/down left/right diagonal and zoon in /out
my $cmd = 'onvif/ptz_services';
and then on the my "$msg =" string fine the profile token and change it form 000 to PROFILE_000 like this <ProfileToken>PROFILE_000</ProfileToken>
//**NOTE after editing this I exited and saved (ctl-x) and then rebooted the system and tested again.
All my PTZ controls now work for this cam on both webpage and ZMninja.
Hope this helps someone.
Regards
Brett
