Zoneminder v1.30.4 Configuration for Foscam FI9828W

Hi All,

I would like to get advise on the configuration Zoneminder on Foscam FI9828W.
I'd tried a fews settings but could'nt get the video streaming running.

Source type = remote
Function = monitor
Remote Protocol = RTSP
Remote Method = RTP/RTSP
Remote Host Name = username:password@ipaddresss
Remote Host port :88
Remote Host Path : /videoMain
width\height : 1280\720
-----------------------------
Source type = Ffmpeg
source path = rtsp://username:password@ipaddress:port/videoMain
remote method = TCP

also I did some others settings as shown above but no luck. Anyone had successfully configured this model that works?. Please share. Thank you!

can you view the camera with VLC?
remember the resolution needs to be exact and this you can find out with VLC.
Also I think that the "Remote" method may not be the optimal option for RTSP.

Yes, I can view the camera using VLC (rtsp://username:password@ipaddress:port/videoMain). It's working fine and the resolution on VLC is 1280x720.
I did using the same resolution on zoneminder but no luck. Tried also with other resolution 640x320 also the same...

Zoneminder Monitor Settings:
Source Type Ffmpeg
Function Modect (or your choice)
Source Path rtsp://admin:(Password)@IP-Address:88/videoMain
Remote Method RTP/Unicast
Capture Width 640
Capture Height 320

If, I'm using the Ffmpeg remote method, the only available selection is for (TCP, UDP, UDP Multicast, HTTP Tunnel) but the "RTP/Unicast" shown above not available for selection. Anyhow, I did tried with all the options but still no improvement.

I try again googling if there is any other settings can be done..Probably if someone had experiencing the same, please keep in touch...Thanks you guys!.

additional information..I'm setup the zoneminder using the virtualbox running on ubuntu 16.04 TLS for testing purpose.

FWIW, I didn't have a lot of luck with ZM over KVM; you can see my thread elsewhere.

Two common errors:
PATH_ZMS is not set to /zm/cgi-bin/nph-zms
Camera resolution in Zoneminder does not match camera output. Use VLC (Tools, Media Information, Codec) to check camera Display Resolution. Note that there may be two values shown. Try both but the smaller should work.

Oh, remote and ffmpeg are two different methods. With this camera use ffmpeg.
