Re: Debian 9.0.0 with Zoneminder 1.30.4
I am not able to get Libvlc to work as a source.
I am getting the following error when installing Zoneminder:
No plugins in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/vlc/plugins
WARNING: Regenerating VLC plugin cache failed.
Please run '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/vlc/vlc-cache-gen -f /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/vlc/plugins' manually.
I have tried to manually install "vlc-plugin-base" which allows me to run: '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/vlc/vlc-cache-gen -f /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/vlc/plugins' and the monitor tries to start when I try libvlc but I get only a grey image and a bunch of errors on the console:
Message from syslogd@debian at Jun 19 16:06:45 ...
re than 5 seconds of late video -> dropping frame (computer too slow ?)
Message from syslogd@debian at Jun 19 16:06:45 ...

re vout display error:

Will keep working on this. As for now ffmpeg works!

Re: Debian 9.0.0 with Zoneminder 1.30.4
I was able to get the libvlc source to work! I have added the install for vlc-plugin-base which allows the Zoneminder install to complete without errors. However, I have been getting some console errors from VLC. It may be my old camera and you may have good results with libvlc but I consider ffmpeg better to use.

Re: Debian 9.0.0 with Zoneminder 1.30.4
I am installing an image now, and hope to have .deb's built for both 1.30.4 and master snapshots, as well as my storageareas branch available tonight.
Re: Debian 9.0.0 with Zoneminder 1.30.4
I installed ZM on a new Debian 9 (32 bit) installed on a 16 gig USB stick using the ZM Wiki instructions here :https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Debian_9_64 ... e_Easy_Way
I followed them exactly and everything worked right away. The system is running smoothly with 1 webcam 1 network camera for testing.
