I upgraded to Zoneminder 1.30.4 and camera dropouts were still occuring. That issue is not related, in my case.

I set /dev/shm to be higher. It was still occuring at this point. I then set watchdog timer from 10 seconds to 30 seconds in options - system and dropouts have stopped. I also added verbose logging to zmwatch, but it was not necessary.

If further troubleshooting is needed, it's easy to edit zmwatch.pl and add additional logging to see where it's getting hung up, and why. If the problem occurs for me again, that is what I will do.

It looks like it. But strange is the racing frame rate then buffer over run.

Dropouts were still occuring on one install, so I made the following script to disable, then re-enable any cameras that aren't responding to zmwatch.pl:
Disable / Enable Cameras that are not responding script
Locked
