Error 500 on monitor?

Just installed ZM so I'm not sure if this is proper behaviour or not. I'm trying to set up my first monitor and I'm pretty sure I've got everything right. When I click on the name of the monitor, I get an http error 500.

Is this a problem with the monitor setup, or with ZoneMinder? If I config a monitor wrong, what should I expect to see?

Edit: Logs show "capturing at xxx fps". They also show the following errors:

3020 'zmfilter.pl' exited abnormally, exit status 9

3181 Unable to get response, disconnecting
3181 Unable to read header
3181 Select error: Interrupted system call

Need more info: Linux distro and version, Zoneminder install instructions you used.
