camera not displayed

Hello,

i watched the camera yesterday and there was a white screen, so the camera was not displayed. There were also no recordings made in the past.
When i clicked on the camera at "Source" and pressed the save button, the camera was reconnected into zoneminder and the live picture was displayed.

Today i got the same problem as yesterday. Do you have any ideas what this could be?
I have installed zoneminder 1.29.0-wily from iconnors ubuntu ppa

Here are the logs:

In the first image you see the last log entries from the camera after the disconnect (white picture)
The second was while the camera was "white"
At the third picture it was the time when i reconnected the camera with the "Source" save button

The camera models are different, so this shouldnt be the problem. And while the downtime in zoneminder i was able to watch them directly through the integrated webserver in the camera. This issue also happened at another location with other camera models (ubuntu ppa version is the same).

update: at a second server with a different location this also happened the last few days. so this should be a software problem.
I would be happy if you give me some advice to find a solution for this issue

You likely do not have your camera configured properly. From your log it appears that the connection to the camera is never made. Would be great for you to provide some more info about your setup? Which setup did you use from the WIKI?

But after i reconnect the camera via "Source" it works for a few hours - one day.

help i have a problem i am trying to add cameras (SP 005) to zoneminder but it just wont take them i can see the stream @ http://192.168.0.107:81/videostream.cgi but it wont add how can i add them??

I am having the same issues I think with ZM 1.29.0 in debian installed with

I have set up a number of ZM deploys over the years, but now with newer cameras, i get the white screen after a while.

I have 2 similar systems using this camera: FI9805EP

All works great, then after 10 min - or 10 hours, one or several of the cameras goes to just a while screen (no image). No broken image icon, just white. I connect to the camera directly (not through ZM) and it's fine, so the camera is working.

I am just taking stills, using Remote/Modect and /cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=XXX&pwd=YYY for example.

I restart ZM and all is well... for a little while. Then cameras start dropping again.

I'll follow up with logs once I see a camera go white again.

This happens w/ 2 clients, on different networks. Both networks are all gigabit, plenty of available bandwidth, fast/new ZM servers with plenty of memory, disk, cpu available.

I get the same thing. When a camera goes white, I click the IP in source, re-save the existing settings, and the camera is back (for a while at least).

its not just you.

try to get the camera stream over rtp/rtsp instead of the http picture. that solved my problem.

Thank you. I am converting all cams to rtp/rtsp now. Time will tell if I get the white out. Again, I really appreciate the post.
