Service not starting on Boot

For some reason Zonminder has mysteriously stoped booting on power up.
I haven't touched anything and and has been working fine for 2 days booting on and off on a test box using 1.28.107.

I changed sleep 15 to 30 just to test but no good
Have to start zoneminder in the console.

I would re-install but waiting for 1.28.107 is back in the ppa

Would guess you are using Ubuntu 14.04? Can you start ZM from the web gui?

Yes, but mint 17.2

What does syslog say?

In the GUI... nothing, service never started

open a terminal and do

tail -f /var/log/syslog

while you try to start it. What does it tell you is happening?

Cannot run that on power on boot, however starting zoneminder it from the GUI shows no errors

Cold boot, zonminder Gui show disabled and should be running
System log shows no reference to zoneminder starting on a cold boot

I set up that version of Mint with ZM 1.26.5 and upgraded to 1.28.107 and it started every time on boot.

It was working for 3 days and just stopped for no reason at all, did not touch anything.
Since I am running 1.25.107 I will just downgrade to 1.28.1 since the 107 is missing from the ppa

UPDATE: I guess I did edit sleep it was in all caps not lowercase.

Well done! Will have to keep that one in the memory banks for future use.

If you want to go back to 1.28.107 it is in the zoneminder-master PPA. However, the zoneminder-master PPA contains BETA releases which are recommended for testing purposes only! As in all things BETA there will be things that may not work right!

I went back to 1.28.1 so much smoother install, basically no errors in the log compared to 107
