Hi McFuzz

Yes I'm using this Foscam FI9803EP with Zoneminder 1.28.1 on CentOS 6.7 64 Bit. It gives excellent pictures both in daylight and night

I'm using Ffmpeg and rtsp to process pictures.

Hi bakemark - thank you for the response! Would you mind sharing your camera video parameters + zoneminder camera configuration parameters? I am thinking of buying one to test out and replace my standard def cameras. Also - do you happen to use the PoE one?

Thanks!

Hi McFuzz

no problem

Pretty standard setup
The server is - and that is impressive - an HP desktop with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz and 12 GB of memory, and it's doing a very nice job with a minimum of power usage. Average load is under 1.0 most of the time. Right now its. .38, .48, .48!! and the power used from the grid is between 34 and 36 Watt. :D :D :D
The installation is made from this link: http://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2 ... tallation/ and zm from here: https://blog.yibi.org/tag/zoneminder-centos
Note that I have five HD cams. (1x 960p, 4x 720p) and three SD 640x480 that is operated via jpeg
Foscam FI9828W, FI9803EP (PoE) FI9853EP (PoE) PoE models is connected to a PoE switch! So yes I do use PoE

Setup for the FI9803EP
All standard on the first tab, except that I use Source Type = Ffmpeg
Second tab:
Source Path = rtsp://user:PassWord@IP_ADDR:88/videoMain
Remote Method = RTP/Unicast
1280 by 720

And the frame rate has been set to 10 fps in the software that controls the camera

I'm not seeing any errors in the stream from any of my cameras. In that past I had all kinds of errors related to this. But that turn out to be the implementation of Ffmpeg in Ubuntu 14.x that I did use in the old days (like 4 month ago :? ) Thats why I'm using CentOS today

So all in all, very fast solution I have now, and the best part is the power usage.
BTW All cameras are running "Modect"
