libvlc rtsp stream quits working after 24+ hours

I have a similar problem where I embed the streams from Zoneminder into dashboards, apps etc. for all of my cameras because most have a 4 connection limit. Problem is that the streams give out after a few hours and just hang. Sometimes they go all red.

Has anyone found a workaround hack? Restarting the zoneminder or apache2 services regularly?
