Monitor modes and how ZM responds

Post by asker »

Hi, I recently integrated ZM with my camera's own HW motion detection (see thread here: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewto ... =9&t=22996)

I have some questions on how ZM is behaving. I read the modes here: http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... onitor_Tab

I don't want ZM to capture or analyze anything till I trigger an event from my script. The only mode that seems to accept recording external triggered events is nodect. That's fine.

But to experiment, I've set my cameras to 'disable', 'nodect' as well as 'monitor' (which is only supposed to be for live streaming) and when I look at logs, I see, for example:
2015-03-06 11:37:34.442606 zma_m5 4891 INF basement: 59000 - Processing at 12.20 fps zm_monitor.cpp 1160
2015-03-06 11:37:34.006079 zmc_m5 4886 INF basement: 59000 - Capturing at 12.20 fps
This camera is set to nodect, disable.

Why is ZM still capturing/processing?

What mode do I set cameras so that ZM does nothing till it gets a trigger?

thanks
I no longer work on zmNinja, zmeventnotification, pyzm or mlapi. I may respond on occasion based on my available time/interest.
