How to schedule automatic backup

Since I recently had to rebuild my zoneminder box, I wanted to create a backup schedule so I could avoid reinstalling everything from scratch. I assume I would need the mysql database at the very least. I haven't been able to find a workable answer yet. Any suggestions? Also, anything else I should include in a backup?
