Bigest ZoneMinder System

Post by blastter »

Dear ZoneMinder Friends:
My problem is that I need to remake the whole security system in my office and I going to replace 32 analog cameras in two DVRs, for 32 IP Cameras of 720p, HD, un one server. I've been doing some testing and I'b mounted some to do some testing, they work great with netbooks, but for mayor system, I need to know how many cameras zoneminder will support.
Best Regards

I have found that it doesn't depend on zm. But it depends on hardware what runs zm. It is very important that it doesn't only depend on speed of the processor and RAM size but it depends on speed of the HDD and bandwidth of used interface (PCI, PCI-x, ) for LAN connection. You need to press all stream or picture from all cameras to this bandwidth and need to write it to HDD in real time.

You can calculate it...

I use an 24 cams system but there is a lower resolution, fps. The hardware is Gigabyte Z77-DS3H mobo, 8GB RAM, i3 proc. If I remember correctly some people from the forum use more cams with their zm.

I hope I could help you.
