reading licence plates, comparing to web site database?

Post by alltech »

Canada rcmp has a site that you can manually type in the province and the license plate number to see if a car is stolen. I think it would be a great featured to be added to zone minder, for at least up here, to have this. Has anyone adapted LPR technology into zone minder? It would also be a great way to keep track on unusual traffic coming and leaving our complex to spot unusual trends like, possible drug buyers coming and going to often and so on.

Thanks for your response.

No this is not implemented in ZM, though I am intrigued. That would certainly be a nice feature if more countries would do this.
It's possible it could be scripted to do this, though I'm not sure what kind of load this would place on the system each time it runs.
