how to upgrade from 1.24 to 1.25

I've downloaded the setup from the download page of site....
But I'm quite pretty new to Linux... I've Ubuntu distribution.
I've unzipped the tar.gz file into a folder and after what I have to do?
User manual talks about givin a command 'make install' on a terminal window, but the command exit with an error... probably because there is no script install?
I tried also
sh install-sh
but again an error.
What I have to do?
