All but one camera feed went blue after 1.24.4 Upgrade

Post by jpereira »

Hello all,

I was running 1.24.2 and upgraded to 1.24.4. After this, all but one of my cameras are showing blue with time stamp. I am running CentOS 5.6 with all updates. All my cameras are remote NFC31-IR Network Camera. My logs are filled with things that look like this.

You are going to need to provide a bit more detail than that. How are your monitors set up for example? I'm not familiar with those cameras so can't suggest anything in that regard. There's not really a huge different in how netcams work between 1.24.2 and 1.24.4 so it is going to be something subtle I suspect.

Yes, it is always the small changes that drives one nuts.

I am attaching some screen shots. The one labeled ComputerROOM works, the one labeled Front Desk does not.

Looks like I could not attach all to one post. Let me know what else I can provide.

The only things that jumps out is that one monitor has a path that starts with /jpg and the other starts with just jpg. Have you tried setting them both the same? Though I can't see why that would make any difference but sometimes cameras are a bit touchy.

Yup tried it every which way. Just strange that they all worked till the upgrade.

It might be worth switching on debug to get a better picture of exactly what is happening with communications to the cameras.

Ok some updates.

I changed the cams that were not working to RTSP. They all worked, but the feed was not reliable as I got the "WAR [Discarding packet for unrecognised ssr]c" errors, this is 64bit Centos.

I changed it to FFMPEG connecting to the same rtsp feed (rtsp://DEVICE_IP/video.mp4) and that also works, but I'm missing too many seconds in between.

Could it be that 1.24.4 doesn't like the format of the jpg? Would upgrading to the test verision 1.25 help?

If you go to Options->Debug then there are various options there that allow you to set up debug for one or more processes. Set it for about level 5 for the zmc processes and it should generate some more information. It's hard to say exactly what to look for at this stage, maybe just before the connection to the camera drops.

You get unrecognised ssrc messages when the camera is still sending frames for the previous connection whilst the new one is ongoing. After a minute or so, they should stop when it realises that no-one is listening. I don't think 1.25.0 is going to make any difference, there are no changes in that area and it's not quite ready for full time use yet.

I'm using Toshiba IWKB-16A's and I'm getting the blue screen and the same errors in the log regarding dropped connection when using 1.24.4 or 1.25. With 1.24.2 the same cameras/configs work fine. Something must have changed.

Edit: I just recompiled 1.24.4 with the zm_remote_camera_http.cpp file from 1.24.2 and now my camera images are being captured. If I have time i'll try find the the exact change that is causing the problem. Theres only a few.

If anyone gets chance, perhaps you could try this patch and see if it helps at all. Sorry for the formatting but hopefully it's simple enough to apply the changes manually anyway.
