recording mpeg instead of jpegs?

Hi, im new to zoneminder and linux in general. right now, im using mocord for 4 video inputs. i want to be able to automatically convert the events i record to mpeg instead of jpegs. is that possible? i know it has something to do with ffmpeg but i don't know what settings to use. this is a surveillance system for my mom and i don't think she can use command line to use ffmpeg. the easier i can make this, the better.

Current version of Zoneminder only allows you to store in jpg but the rencently announced version 2 will allow storage in a kind of mpg but that will be "Beta" and may not be stable enough for parents for some time.

Could check out Winff (gui for ffmpeg).
