BT878 1 camera 30 fps, 2 cameras 2 fps, why such a drop?

Post by ryan43110 »

I am using 1.24.1 and love it, but I am stumped on an issue. I recently got a new bt878 card, and got everything up and running, but on both cards if I set up 2 cameras, the fps drops to 2 fps on all cameras (on the card that has 2 cameras). If I just keep it at 1 on both cards, I get 30 fps. From what I understand, I should only see a drop in half (about 15 fps per camera) if I add 2. Any ideas why this is?

Only the most expensive cards can switch cameras fast enough to do 15fps, Ebay quality cards are a bit hit and miss with their quality, seems 2fps is as good as yours will allow when switching between cameras.

yes , I have bt878 too and I am using 2 cards with 4 camera

25 FPS (PAL) with one camera, even < 2FPS with 2 cameras (I did not test with 4 camera)
now I am waiting 4 chip bt878 cards ....
seems that we can not expect more from $14 card (from dealextreme)
and it is still more cheaper to have 3 of these if you are plan to use with 3 camera (4 chip card I found for almost $60)
