ZM 1.242 on SuSe 11.1 doesn't start

I installed the rpm package without ffmpeg on SuSe 11.1 64-Bit
When I try to start zm I got the message
zmwatch[2716].ERR [Can't get shared memory id '7a6d0001', 1: No such file or directory]
After adding to /etc/sysctl.conf
kernel.shmall = 134217728
kernel.shmmax = 134217728
this message doesn't appear anymore.
Never the less when I try to start zm it fails with the following message:

In the setting look for debug tab and turn more of it on.

Only tell us that it failed to start not what the problems might be.

I uninstalled ZM and reinstalled it from scratch but this time with the rpm package with ffmpeg.

I still receive a failed when I start zm.
I executed chmod 777 /dev/video*

I could find in the apache/error_log the following entry
[error] Failed to change_hat to 'HANDLING_UNTRUSTED_INPUT'

I changed the shared memory settings and some other settings and now ZM starts without error.

Never the less I only get a black screen or a flickering screen.

I tried different monitor settings but none brings a proper picture.
I have 2 different kind of cameras connected but same result.

I tried to use xawtv for testing but no chance to compile on SuSe 64 Bit. One error after the other.

Anybody an idea where to tune the settings to get it finally up?

I'm using Firefox to access.

zm starts without error and I get a streaming video on the 1st camera.
The other 7 cameras are either only flickering, black screen or even nothing.

Because there is no response from anybody it seems I have to go the hard way myself to figure out how this is working.

There are a lot of things that can cause black screens.

Can you tail your /var/log/messages and capture the errors as your click on the live feed for the black-display cameras?

For extra debug, go into the ZM web interface, click on Options (upper right), select the Debug tab, then select additional debug to on and a higher level to see more debug info.

The card I use has the brand and model
Hawell HW-LX808E DVR Card a card with Philips SAA7134HL chipset

It looks to me that the card is not properly identified and setup under SuSe11.1.

I have a bootable image on a CD from Fedora where I can't do any configuration but there the card is running with a propriety software.

Could it be that you have overlapping IRQs assigned within the set of 8 cameras on the card?

I phrase that in the form of a question since I don't know.

I believe I've read in other threads that the backtrace and crash are often caused by the camera itself or the parameters that you are trying to access the image with. Have you tried taking the working camera on vbi0 and placed it on a port such as vbi6?

I have not assigned any IRQ they had been setup automatically.
Where to check and change?

It looks to me it is more an issue on the card setup in /etc/modpobe.conf.
When I play around with the card numbers the result is always different. Best result I get with card=94 + 97 but only for camera 0.

I have tried some other cards like 1,2 etc but here even camera0 doesn't have a picture.

Is there any way to run a shell when the Fedora CD is running?
If so you could try looking to see what the card numbers is set to in that.
