ZoneMinder 1.24.1 in Ubuntu Karmic/9.10?

Post by ThomasNovin »

Hello

Does anyone know why Ubuntu 9.10 doesn't have the latest ZoneMinder release? Currently the release is 1.24.1-1ubuntu2.

Hello,

i use ZM 1.24.2 from Debian SID with Karmic. Just download the .deb, and install with dpkg. Works perfectly.
Also you have to install the libdirac-encoder0 package from SID first.

Any idea on whether that .deb's configured to used shared or mapped memory? I left shared memory behind in my last install from source, and am never looking back.

I went to http://packages.debian.org/sid/zoneminder then followed link to PTS https://buildd.debian.org/pkg.cgi?pkg=zoneminder then followed link to buildd logs http://buildd.debian.org/pkg.cgi?pkg=zoneminder to see the configure args used when building. IPC shared memory is still used.

An example of complete URL to buildd log:

I'll second that.

I recently installed Ubuntu and their 1.24.1 and had to adjust my shared memory.
