i think that should be an easy one:

provide me with the link you use to access your acti cam directly from the browser, not within zm, than i will give you what you need; (mask the link before sending, of course)

actually, what i want to say is that you left the "Remote Host Path" blank, and i think that is the problem; i think it should read something like "/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?resolution" there (of course not that exactly because thats for some axis cams)

maybe you have just inverted the "path" and "subpath" fields;

EDIT: also your "Remote Host Name: Admin:123456@192.168.1.50" seems to me to be wrong to me; try just the ip there; maybe the preset you used is not right by default....

good luck

Hi, I still can not see the video or image. Do you know the cgi for Acti or where can I find it. My acti camera is ACM1231.

Thank You

i dont know the path for your camera;

as i said, if you give me the path you use to watch its streams, for example: "192.0.0.0/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?resolution" i think i can give you the zm configuration;

I've got an ACM-5611 that's working without authorization. I unchecked "enable RTSP authentication" on the camera's own setup page, and used the ZM preset. There may be better settings, but these are working for me right now. Also, make sure the resolution in ZM is the same as the resolution set on your ACTi, and lose the user:password in your address if you disable RTSP Authen.

My video settings on the ACTi Web Configurator are:
Streaming method: RTP Over UDP
RTSP Authen Enable (not checked)
RTP B2 Frame Enable (checked)
Audio in: disabled
Resolution: 1280x1024
Frame Rate Mode: constant
Frame Rate: 8
Encoder Type: MPEG4
Video Bitrate Mode: Variable Bit Rate
Video Quality: High
Serial Port Baud Rate: 9600
Serial Port Control: 8,N,1
RTSP Port: 7070
Video Control Port: 6001

I'm also struggling with the exact same problem. I have my camera configured for MPEG4 and unchecked the check for authentication.

I can use VLC to connect to it at rtsp://192.168.xxx:7070

I can not find any way to get ZM 1.24.1 to see an image or capture events at that port.

I've also configured VLC per this thread: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13718

and then try to connect to that stream as a remote stream, and it still doesn't work.

I've tried this on a FreeBSD box with 1.23.3, and a Fedora 10 and ubuntu 8.04 server box with 1.24.1.

Does anyone have any ideas how to further debug this?

thanks so much.

/track, the one the preset picked for me.

Edit: No, actually, that's the subpath the preset picked. Path is blank.

acti config

Post by viperdak »

having the exact same problem. Running Ubuntu server 9.04 with ZM version 1.24.2.

Have some ACTi cameras model 5601 set up just as described in this post and this post:http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewto ... light=acti.

One thing the preset did not do was set a remote host path. Does anyone know the path for ACTi cams? Maybe this is the problem. Everything works fine through VLC by using rtsp://<ip>:7070.

Also on the main ZM screen the function and source are both yellow.
here is the tail from /var/log

update

partial success!?

here is what i'm getting now:

Code: Select all

root@uam-crossett2:~# tail /var/log/messages
Sep 11 12:18:33 uam-crossett2 zmfilter[6418]: INF [Scanning for events]
Sep 11 12:18:33 uam-crossett2 zmdc[6393]: INF ['zmwatch.pl' starting at 09/09/11 12:18:33, pid = 6422]
Sep 11 12:18:33 uam-crossett2 zmdc[6422]: INF ['zmwatch.pl' started at 09/09/11 12:18:33]
Sep 11 12:18:33 uam-crossett2 zmwatch[6422]: INF [Watchdog starting]
Sep 11 12:18:33 uam-crossett2 zmwatch[6422]: INF [Watchdog pausing for 30 seconds]
Sep 11 12:18:33 uam-crossett2 zmdc[6393]: INF ['zmupdate.pl -c' starting at 09/09/11 12:18:33, pid = 6424]
Sep 11 12:18:33 uam-crossett2 zmdc[6424]: INF ['zmupdate.pl -c' started at 09/09/11 12:18:33]
Sep 11 12:18:52 uam-crossett2 zms[6437]: INF [Debug Level = 0, Debug Log = <none>]
Sep 11 12:18:52 uam-crossett2 zms[6437]: INF [Authenticated user 'lando']
Sep 11 12:19:10 uam-crossett2 zmc_m1[6415]: INF [Monitor-1: 1000 - Capturing at 26.32 fps]
Now the issue i'm dealing with is i'm not getting an image/video stream when i open the monitor. Just a blank area where the video should be. (Firefox) With the monitor window open it says at the bottom state: Idle - 30.79 fps (the numbers varying in realtime so i know that part is working at least).
Under the row of play, pause, etc buttons it says Mode:Live Zoom 1.0x.

Just for kicks i tried it also in Internet Exploder with the same result.

Am i missing some silly config somewhere? i'm scared to mess with it anymore now that i've got some fps kickin.

Everything under options/images is default except i have cambozola.jar checked.

Thanks in advance! so close now..

update to the update =)

everything is working swimmingly except for the streaming part. I guess the camera path doesn't matter because there wasn't one loaded on the preset and it doesn't appear to matter.

It records perfectly and the stills look great. I just need to figure out how to view a stream of the video/frames. I'm assuming this might have something to do with ffmpeg? If anyone has knowledge of that beast feel free to chime in.

Sorry for all of the posts, maybe all this will help someone in the future.

Thanks in advance!
