zm on mobile devices

Post by souverain »

I have been looking for this info for a long time, and now that I found an acceptablyworking config, I like to share it:

on windows mobile 6.1, you can get zm very close to streaming using the following settings:

-use iris browser
- remove cambozola
-set update on low BW to 1 sec - so we are not really streaming
-set fps to a high number, say 30 fps

It looks very very close to live streaming - the delay is literally half a second.

if you get this working also, let me know.

Currently i'm working on a stand alone ZM client for Windows Mobile.
At the moment i already have a prototype with good results on video streaming.

In my plans I guess that after the middle of the next month I will get a beta version.

About your suggestion, did you tried it with sprint EVDO?

Soon you will be notified to test my application.

Thanks to both of you. I'd also be interested in seeing the windows mobile client when the beta is ready.
I'll give the initial settings a go in the meanwhile.

souverain,
Thanks for the tip re iris. I quite like it.
I have followed your stuff and have streaming (well sort of) on live view on 1.23.1
Is there a way to be able to view streaming of past events this way - the event view just brings up still pics with the option to generate an mpeg - no image streaming.
Also, I'm just using the standard URL to access - should I be using the xhtml switch?

Thanks though - this is a big improvement on what I've had previously.

punk_ecas:

Yes, I am on Sprint EVDO. Sprint Coverage tends to be spotty, but where there is good signal, the EVDO is very usable with zm.

Kevin:

Yes, it is not actually streaming - it is a snapshot every second, but I think it is still useful for many applications since it captures a whole range of motions (will not capture someone running fast past the camera view).

And, not, I have experimented with various formats, but it still cannot view saved events.

OK, thanks for the reply. I just wanted to check I wasn't missing something re the recorded events. As you say it is better than what I have had before.
Thanks

Found this web browser that supports jpeg streaming.

http://www.skyfire.com/

Seems to work quite well with limited testing

There is nothing to get ready, its just a web broweser for windows mobile devices. But it seems to be compatible with zm and zm streams.

To my knowledge this isn't directly possible with other WM browsers, as per the previous posts.
