Make sure you are suing the appropriate bandwidth settings also, there is no point in using High bandwidth mode when viewing 8 streams over a 512k upstream domestic connection. You may still have to increase the ajax timeout in the bandwidth options if it too low for your particular circumstances.
Where abouts is the ajax time out setting? i did not find it in the zm options or httpd.conf maybe i am not looking hard enough.

In zm 'Options' there is a tab for each bandwidth. (High B/W, Medium B/W, Low B/W). In each you can fine tune several settings including WEB_*_AJAX_TIMEOUT.

This is now fixed by the way in case nbody noticed. The mootools class extension format had changed and I had broken the timed ajax request class.

Yes zm seems to be running very stable and error free right now THANK YOU so very much. My montage is working quite smoothly now with Firefox also using the default 10000ms ajax timeout is that the default i forget now? I am going to try and max out the system and bttv card, by uping all the cameras to 640X480, but for now i am so happy with the stability and error free output in all the logs THANK YOU.

Still having some issues with Seamonkey, not sure if i changed the ajax timeout could be affecting seamonkey, but this is a browser issue not a zm one i will report back with my findings.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

PS i was wondering if it would not be a good idea to add a default or sensible settings at the bottom of each of ?'s. You know the descriptions that pop up when you press the ? in the config menus. I noticed that some of them have been cleaned up alot. I think it would be nice to have default values as i sometimes make changes and forget what to change things back to a frame or reference would be nice.

I would be more than will to make these additions for upcoming releases if there is any interest.

PPS there is still no listing of a frames per second in my montage, however montage seems to be running quite abit slower than 1 fps. Guessing this is a bandwidth issue not sure what to expect over a mostly residential (paying for commercial) cable connection might have to phone isp and have upload speed boosted.

Hello all i have upgraded one machine to svn version 2846 and have the ajax errors again. I also have a machine running an older svn version 2844 i think not sure how to check version # on arch linux.

Any word on a new release of ZM without the ajax errors? and why would the errors appear again on the newer svn version. If someone could help me out here i am very willing to test and report back my findings. So far all i know is that it might be somehow related to mootools and was fixed but now it is broken again.

c0mputerking,

I'm using svn 2859. I put in on my new 8.04 dvd with mmap memory now. So far I have 4 camera's on it with montage view up all last night. I have 4 feeds at 640x480, one at 320x240, and the other at 352x288. I've been running them all on record just to make sure the purge when full filter works. That Qt viewer or Zmviewer program is working great also on the desktop. Zoneminder 1.24 is really stable at this point. Hopefully you get your setup dialed in.

p.s I'm stress testing my DVD using this site www.axis-demo.com. This is all on a KVM install of my DVD with one gig of ram. This mmap memory option is money. I can just add them as I desire and they just work. No more shared memory setttings! I'm going to see how much this thing can take :)

added: This is crazy, I now have 10 Axis Live IP camera's, 8 at 640x480. No ajax errors so far. I haven't restarted Zoneminder or anything, just add the cam's and they come right up. I'm either going to run out of bandwidth or really overload this 1 gig of ram.

Looks like it's a winner. I wish I knew exactly what problem and when it happens for you. I've been sitting here looking at a montage view of all 10 camera's at full size and nothing bad has happened. They haven't froze or anything, luckily I have unlimited bandwidth. Of course if anyone is trying to grab my new DVD it's going to take a long time. Hopefully I'll have the image uploaded to an offsite server this evening.

Ok this is very good news to hear, as you know i am still using ZMlarch, not sure why but i am having reservations about switching to your DVD. Guess maybe just hate to lose all the hard work i have put into Arch. It seems quite a nice distro but openbox kind of sucks like window 10 years ago hehe. However it is very light weight but lacks some features and even XCFE seems deluxe in comparison. Lots of pros and cons either way

Anyways I have been really close to breaking down and using your DVD several times now. If you keep talking about how great your system is i might be fully convinced heehee.

However i do have one system with 8 cameras running version blah that works perfect. However the other system with the updated ZMarch CVS has ajax errors again, and it was working ok before upgrade.

I'm in no way trying to say anything bad about anyone else's cd. The methods the other guy's use are just as impressive, especially the update process on ZMlarch. I don't have that level of update system yet but I can roll up updates now when I get time. You might find the very same errors in my setup and be just as disappointed. I'm at 95% and waiting to see what's going to happen with the purge option. If all goes well I'll turn off all the feeds and your more then welcome to download this DVD. I'll give you another free key and have some fun with it.

I'm just so happy everything seems to be running great and the ease of use now with the newest Zoneminder. It's making videos in all format's, no ajax errors or so it seems, and still works using mjpg. I wish I knew more about ajax and could offer some feedback to Phil if I did happen to see any errors.

Sure will and I have to go post something in another section about the purge when full filter. It does not seem to be active on a fresh install, either that or it's not running by default in the background.
