Cell Phone Streaming

Post by souverain » Tue Jan 13, 2009 5:32 pm

Hi-

I want a small cell phone app that would stream saved and live video from zm to a smart phone.

The app should be:

(1) very easy to use. Make it so anyone who can use a cell phone can use it without difficulty.

(2) run on major cell phone platforms like windows mobile, iphone, blackberry, etc (start with one of course).

(3) Audio would be nice, but it appears this is a difficult task judging from recent posts

(4) The app should be triggered by email or sms, as in receive sms alert with a link. Click on the link and the app opens up to see the alert and/or live in-progress video.

Willing to pay developer - send me private communication.

Thanks

The iPhone already has one available in the store, Webcam. Another post somewhere on the forum mentioned it. There's a free version that doesn't allow you to add your own URL's, and a paid ($0.99) version that does allegedly let you view ZoneMinder streams.

I haven't shelled out the $1, so I can't tell you how well it works.

You win the award for most confusing post of the day. Your prize is a free download of ZoneMinder, there's a link on the site somewhere.

Cell phones generally get their time (well, sprint, at least) from the network. A minute is a minute. As for cost, I imagine they round up (20 seconds, 30 seconds, 59 seconds all equal a minute), depends on the carrier.

I also thought who in their right mind would post that...then I did some checking on google with that sentence and found out that it's a bot probably testing Zoneminder's authentication before it unloads on the forums with spam....

brisaya wrote:How many minutes is a cell phone minute? I was wondering, in a cell phone minute how much of it would be a real clock minute? For example, 400 cell phone minutes won't be like 400 minutes that we see on a watch or a clock. I can't really explain myself. What I'm trying to say is how are minutes used on cellphones because if they are not like real time minutes, what is the value of one cell phone minute in real time value? Thanks.

Guys this is SPAM. Whom ever or what ever posted keyed in on the cellular comment and it's ment to be well a brick short.

They just want the links at the bottom of the post to well get picked up in a search engine. I'd appresiate if any one lets us know when this happens so we can be sure to remove the post and them from the forum.
