I was forced to make a new translation because there were major mistakes

a few things to mention, according to different countries and languages:

1. You obviously do a "strtolower()" or something similar, when
showing some messages on the zm console, though that doesn't work in
all cases for the german language (because we have Nouns and verbs,
not nouns and verbs

For example:
english: Logged in as root, configured for high bandwidth
german: Angemeldet als root, konfiguriert für hohe Bandbreite

but that "Bandbreite" is shown as "bandbreite".
same for "Last 3 events" = "Letzte 3 Ereignisse"

I think my translation is case-sensitive for ZM, so you could use it without strtolower.

2. I guess these arrows for ordering cams should get an align=center?

3. Maybe you could implement a formatting of the date-string in the
left upper corner like for that camera time stamps - I think there
are local and global differences for displaying date and time.

Onto your other points.

1) I have removed all but one strtolower, which is the 'configured for' one when it runs on in the same sentence.
2) Well spotted. I have changed this
3) The format of the date is in zm_config.php if you want to modify it. The intention is that one day this will be controllable in the language files.

Ah thanks, Phil... that was a good hint, i think now some of my bosses won't be irritated anymore because of the date... *g*

btw. I'm working on a real translation (first two parts in options already done, but hell... that is a lotta work, did you have a ghostwriter for this? )

but there is some trouble with these ä ö ü ß (ae oe ue ss) characters, i can encode them to htmlspecialchar (& uuml ; & szlig ; ...) but that doesn't work for the drop down menus and not for the options window, because you replace the ampersand in the strings with htmlspecialchar & amp ;, do you?

so my question is... how should I translate it? Using the ascii chars or the htmlspecialchars? Or should I use these equivalents (ae oe ue ss) for drop down menus and options as long as there's no other solution?

Can you give me an example of menu stuff that is escaped? I think in general that you should probably just write the strings as you can rather than pre-formatting them to html as sometimes strings get included in other things. But if you can give me examples I will have another look just to be sure.
