Pico2000 4-port DVR card

Post by robi »

Hi All,

Just got a card called "Star Imavision Video Capture".
It's a Pico2000-compatible card. It looks like this:
Image

My ZM box, that used to work until now with a regular TV tuner board, recognizes this card (that has exactly the same chip as the TV tuner) and ZoneMinder seems to work with it. However, I had to select, for "Device Format", the "AUTO" option. Any other manually selected format gives distorted picture, pink overlays and so on. I'd normally use PAL.

The biggest problem however is that the picture is Black and White only. I tried all the Capture Palette options, in RGBs it's B/W, in YUVs it's pinky. Gray is naturally B/W.

I also tried to play with the Monitor's settings, (Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Colour) but no results at all. Still B/W.

May be an initialization problem...?

Any ideas? I'd really appreciate.

My dmesg:

In addition, I see that one of the cameras, in Modect, goes orange after a while. Restarting ZM solves it temporarily, but after a while it's orange again.

There are 2 cameras set up on this card, both in modect.

Too bad the wiki is not that intuitive.

I am considering to 'donate' you some of my time, as I am not able to send you money. Perhaps I could give a hand in organizing the documentation... I have some experience in documenting projects.

I just need to re-organize my schedules.

If you look at the picture, you'll see a blue potentiometer just by the audio jack. What is that for? Does anybody have a clue what is that trimmer used for?

It can be seen on all Pico2000 cards.

My best guess would be that it looks like to bias the transistor for the audio input. Input audio level trim maybe to adjust the gain.

agreed I believe its a volume/gain adjustment

re the wiki, anytging you can do for the benefit of the zm community would be great mate. Feel free to have an 'organise'
