New to Zone Minder...

Setting up a system with 4 IP POE Cameras with these Video Specs

Compression:H.265;H.264;H.264H;H.264B;MJPEG Frame Rate;Main Stream
3M(1~20fps)/1080P/720P(1 ~ 25/30fps)
Sub Stream;D1/CIF(1 ~ 25/30fps)
Bit Rate：H.265: 32K ~ 4156Kbps

What kind of hardware requirements (CPU / RAM / etc) would be suggested to run this?

Would this work - Core i5 (I5-3210M) /16 GB RAM?

4 720p or 1080p cameras with an i5-3210M (two cores) will probably be ok. Though, keep in mind that you will have to limit the framerate (on the cameras webpage). 5 FPS for 4 cameras should be doable, but 30FPS for 4 cameras... You would need to test. You are essentially watching a number of video streams at once, with some added math on top depending on what setting you use (mocord, modect, record).

You should use H264 passthrough when possible.
