Apeman ID71

Post by johnaaronrose »

I've just bought an Apeman ID71 IP Camera. I'm trying to set it up in ZoneMinder. I'm baffled by what to fill in on the Remote Protocol Method, Host Name, Host Port & Host Path of the Source tab.
I've looked at the documentation including the mpeg-4 camera example but it was of no help. The documentation stated procedures to find out details of the camera:
Check the documentation that came with your camera - no help
Look for your camera in the hardware compatibilty list in the wiki http://wiki.zoneminder.com/Hardware_Compatibility_List - camera not listed there
Try ZoneMinder’s new ONVIF probe feature - I'm using ZM 1.29 (which comes in Ubuntu 16.04's repositories) and I saw somewhere that it's not guaranteed to work even in ZM 1.30
Download and install the ONVIF Device Manager onto a Windows machine https://sourceforge.net/projects/onvifdm/ - I don't use Windows
Use Google to find third party sites, such as ispy, which document this information - camera was not listed on ispyconnect's database
I gave the camera a static ip address (by configuring my router) of 192.168.101.50 and my computer has a static ip address of 192.168.101.12. The camera. In ZM, for the host fields, I selected http for the Protocol, and entered UID:Password@192.168.101.50 (where the values for UID and Password are printed on the base of the camera) for the Name, 10080 for the Port and I had no idea what to use for the Path so I used /dev/video0 (which I think is what Ubuntu uses on my computer). I saved that Monitor setup. Anyway, when I clicked on the Name of my camera in ZM's Console, it gave:
Date/Time
Component Server PID Level Message File Line

2018-03-02 17:38:38.951607 zmc_m1 22469 WAR Can't connect to remote camera: Connection refused zm_remote_camera_http.cpp 11
How can I find out what to enter for the Host Path?
PS The Android app Onvifer said that the camera is is a ONVIF device and discovered it but could not connect on http, tcp or udp: it only tried port 10080 for http (the recommended Protocol)

I've tried running Onvifer app from an Android tablet. Onvifer finds the camera and works out its RTSP parameters, namely ip address, ports & stream path. But it will not connect using RTSP. I emailed Apeman and conclusion is that there is a bug in the firmware. I was sent instructions with the camera which said to use EyeCloud app. The app is horrible to sue. I've checked the messages between the camera and my Android tablet whilst running EyeCloud using Android tcpdump and Wireshark (on my Ubuntu PC after sending the .pcap file from my tablet to myPC). There are no RTSP messages. All communication is done by what seems to be an encrypted proprietary protocol. So I've sent the camera back thru Amazon and have ordered a a Flourion SP-12 camera which is oniSpy's ONVIF working camera's database. So fingers crossed!
