How to firmware update Linux only (for Trendnet TV-IP320PI)

Post by rmezm »

New to Zoneminder and just got my first camera working with vlc.
The camera is a Trendnet TV-IP320PI.

My question is how can I install the latest firmware on the above camera if all I've
got are linux machines (fedora) on my LAN at home; no Windows and no Macs.
The Browser plugin from Trendnet is for Window/Mac only.

Thanks

Well, talked to Trendnet support and unless you have a Windows or Mac machine available
you can NOT very update the firmware!!!

Seems bizarre to me that from the camera's shell (one can ssh into the camera) one can not
execute a command that grabs the firmware from some local machine:directory
(does some validation) and load it, e.g.: # upgradeFirmware <url-to-firmware-file>.

Anyway, are there any PoE Cameras support by Zoneminder that have some sort of
support for firmware updating from Linux?
