I am looking into setting up a zoneminder nvr.
I have five 3mp IP q-see (dahua) cameras. I want only to record the full video stream, no motion detection (the motion detection is done on the cameras).
Which is the cheapest board that would do the job?
Thanks.
which hardware for 5 IP cams?
Re: which hardware for 5 IP cams?
Hi,
A regular mini-ITX board could do the job, SBCs like Rpi3, Odroid XU4 are able too, but you will find their CPU quite overloaded.
Hope it helps,

After more than 15 years, no longer using ZM as surveillance system.
Now in the dark side, using a commercial system...

I am looking to have it hidden somewhere (e.g. in a suspended ceiling), so I'd prefer some SBC. If I used ffmpeg directly instead of zoneminder, would I have less CPU usage or it would be the same? I plan on having the cameras at no more than 5fps. I Found this:
