PCI express cards

Post by jameswilson »

Just wondering what everyones experience is for 16 channel cards. In the past i have used the 878 based cards like the 400r etc but new motherboards have less PCI sockets etc.
Ideally im looking for a 16ch card that i can install a few off in the same box (upto 4) that will allow me to use old pal cameras etc.

I did play with cards a few years ago but would like to know whats available in pci-x options. What you all using?

Hello,
I'm using 8 channel PCIEx card with Conexant CX25821 chipset and I know, that are available cards with this chipset with 16 channels. Unfortunately Linux driver for this card has some small problem, which cause, that sometimes you get corrupted image. I asked in V4L developer mailing list for some patch, but nobody from developers has this card, so I wasn't successful. Another way is to use card with Philips SAA chipset, which can be found here http://www.camsecure.co.uk/Camsecure_vi ... cards.html. This cards working well, but has only 8 channels.
