error in wiki, ubuntu 10.04 install instructions

Post by redxiii »

the instructions here:

http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... Zoneminder

claim on step 14 to paste "kernel.shmall = 134217728 kernel.shmmax = 134217728" into /etc/sysctl.conf

however, that needs to be split on to two lines:

kernel.shmall = 134217728
kernel.shmmax = 134217728

i was getting shared memory errors until i tracked down the issue, and it turns out that line in my sysctl.conf was not properly setting shmmax.

Hi,

You could edit the wiki yourself to help another users not to have the same issue.

of course i would have done that if i could edit the page, but it requires a wiki account and there is no place for me to create an account.

tried that but it doesn't work. firefox even has my user/pass saved for the forums and automatically fills it in on the wiki logon page. and, i also tried manually typing in my user/pass to log in to the wiki, but it still says incorrect password.

thanks.

though it would be nice to be able to edit things in the wiki. is editing restricted for now, or is my account too young, or what? i'm planning on setting up 10 cameras or so with ZM so there will likely be some more things i can contribute to the wiki...

Everyone should have access i don't believe there is any restriction.
