I don't mind spiders generally as every one is worth its weight in mosquitoes, this is a good thing.

Spiders seem to like one outside camera quite a lot, this is not a good thing.

There are a few brands of Spider-B-gone spray on Amazon that are supposed to keep the hairy little beggars away from cameras, do these sprays work ?

As you said spiders like bugs. Bugs are attracted to IR light from the cameras thus the big hairy ones weave a web right in front. I solved the problem by using LED floods located away from the camera that light the area to be watched.
