poor man's way to safely offsite video footage? (youtube?)

OK before you blast me for such a stupid suggestion - here's where I am going with this...

Would it be even possible to use something like youtube to continually upload footage (non-sensitive of course) for archival purposes if one was too cheap to have a server in the cloud somewhere? Perhaps using a batch process or something to queue up into youtube as a private video, in one hour clips....?

Waste of time is my thought.
Sorry but when you can get a server with a 500gb drive for $60-70 bucks. The free option is just not worth it.
