Cheap 4/8/16 port card on eBay

Hi all,
i recently bought this card on ebay (german seller, ships worldwide):

This is just to inform you that it is working w/o problems with Linux/ZM.

The output of 'lspci' looks like this:

BTW: The Windows software shipped with the card freezes XP within minutes. You'll understand that i didn't spend much time in hunting bugs there ;)

PS: I forgot; the card is labeled as '408Y", so manufacturer seems to be 'Shenzhen Hawell Advanced Technology Co., Ltd.'.
This fits to the info given during the installation of the XP drivers.

I think I may have purchased a similar 4 cam card from ebay (except mine is from China) and it also came with hawell drivers.

It's nice to know that this card may work with zoneminder. I will leave an update once I've had a chance to try it.

Sorry to be a nube (linux is all new, just used the live cd and got it running, ut no video in) I have 2 cheap ebay cards from chine. Can you please explain how to lspci ???

I assume this is from the pci card data?

I think it's best to go with the 8 channel 240/200 fps. Quite cheap on Ebay and almost working right out of the box (need to add a line in modprobe.conf)

This is the card, with the yellow connector;

I hoped it was an universal PCI bus (3.3V/5V) card but it's not working in my 3.3V Linux file server! ( :cry: ) ... I put it in a "normal" pc now and it's working fine.
Thats the only negative thing I can find, but most of the multiple channel cards are 5V somehow.

What line did you add to modprobe, my card has the same chipset.

Can You share your modprobe.conf options for this card please?
I bought the same card too, but can use only first bttv chip.

Solved. card=77,77,77,77
Has 2 video input channels (0,1) for each(4) BT chip.

I've been looking at upgrading my current system to something beefier and have seen exactly the same card as in your photo. Are you finding it reliable?
