Reolink RLC-820A only in H265 for 4k?

Post by nwetp »

Hi guys,

Hope someone can help me get this in.

I've got the sub stream of RLC820A into ZM using either RTSP or RTMP.

However the 4k main stream is only output over RTSP using H265 - I can view it in VLC but can't get it into Zoneminder. Below are the links I'm using

Anyone got any ideas on getting this into ZM? Suspect its the use of h265?

There shouldn't be any problem record the h265 stream. The issue is with viewing it. You will have to set Codec in event view to MJPEG.

RLC cameras should work ok but you need to set
reorder_queue_size=1000

or higher in Monitor->Source->Options

The CODEC setting no longer exists in event view. It now seems to be buried in the camera/Monitor definition and labeled "Default Method for Live View" The default is auto. And it also does not seem to need to be set to MJEPG as in version 1.36.14 the Auto setting appears to work (incidentally it is really helpful if when giving advice you put the version number of the zm software in since the developers seem to love moving things and renaming things)

Secondly, it appears Reolink broke compatibility in their latest version of camera firmware for the RLC-820A. version 3.0.0.494 works but later firmware versions do not. This was mentioned in https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/com ... inder_nvr/
at the very bottom of the comments, but I have found it to be the case as of this writing with the newer 3.1 version firmware.
