Best CPU solution

Post by 08k8 »

OK- brand new member here seriously considering ZM.

My current install is MotioneyeOS on Raspberry pi. I'm using 2 SV3C dome cameras and performance sucks. I'm missing motion events and flat just done with Motioneye. Don't get me wrong- great work there, its just not working my application.

What is the preferred CPU for ZM? are you guys using a single board computer to do this?? I'm looking for decent performance and I believe that my expectations are reasonable with regard to image etc.

I run it in a VM.

5 cameras, but fairly low resolution - 640x480. All running in modect (motion detection) at between 5-10fps.
If you have higher resolution - you may need more horsepower, but there is no reason why you can't piggyback ZM on the back of an existing server in a VM.

Here are my VM specs and system load (running on Virtualbox - which is free).
