Bogus Users

Tonight I have purged about 800 bogus spam users from the database. I think I have been prudent and only got genuine spammers but if you find your account has disappeared then let me know as I can restore you from backup.

I will be running this regulary from now on, and imposing a time limit of 3 days between registration and activation before accounts gets removed. This should get 95% of the bogus accounts but I will also be adding some further controls to stop time wasters from setting up accounts. I would be grateful if anyone notices any bogus accounts being created on this or other similar sites if you could let me know and I can then be a proactive about banning IPs etc.
