Seems to me an option setting defaulting to do not create would be the answer here.

Personally I would use Axis wireless cameras. I have had bad experiences with the low-end Panasonic wireless cameras. I would recommend one of these: AXIS 207W, AXIS 211W.

As I said, this is for appearances only. As long as folks using the current beta think it works "ok" then just make a "stable snapshot" with today's date or something so I can please these corporate IT types.

It is not OSS that is the problem. It is certain closed source codecs and libraries that are under copyright and/or patent protection. Those are the legal challenge. Some types of video cannot be viewed "legally" on a Linux system when using those codecs and/or libraries in certain parts o...
