http://www.jpwilson.eu/zm4msbeta.zip Hi James. I sent a contact to your web page to download ZM4MS but he (and I) could not find a link to download. Your instructions at the beginning of this thread say: Please visit http://www.jpwilson.eu/ and then zm4ms Thanks But that did not appear correct. Cou...

If the attempts are against ssh then you are probably dealing with a bot. It will tirelessly try hundreds, thousands or millions of combinations against a port it finds open. I handle this on *n?x servers we manage in two ways. 1. Public ssh access from the internet is on a nonstandard port. 2. Only...

Re: In the picture...
What about a small LCD display near the bottom of the camera... or a large LCD on the wall near the truck? It sounds like they want weight, driverID, truckID, plate#, or some other information captured *in* the frame... yes, it could be overlaid, but would it not make a stronger case for those that...

How about sending the serial data to a tty on the ZM server, and using ZM to overlay the image directly? Will any existing overlay variables allow devices? It can't be limited to just date and time... The plan is to connect to the ZM server with a serial connection so using a tty port is in the pla...

Ok, here is the rough idea of what we are considering at this point: 1. any type of camera capturing an event (including IP camera). 2. text inserter between transaction PC and printer. 3. serial stream of data from the text inserter's serial I/O port > ZM server > file. 4. grab ascii text from file...

... I do agree that these items seem to be the best solution for your problem, although it /may/ be cheaper as you have network over there to simply replace with two new IP cams. You misunderstand. There are no analog cameras at this location as of this time. These will need to be added to the syst...

can you plug something into the same network (ie your windows laptop) to do this or add a 2nd nic to the zm machine and have a seperate network for this purpose? If they have allowed you to plug zm onto the network, how about using vmware on the zm machine. The IP camera ZM system has two gigabit N...

Oh ho! Axis has solutions for this too: http://www.axis.com/products/video/video_server/ Has anyone ever used a one or four port analog to IP converter from Axis with ZoneMinder? Why I am looking at analog to IP The site where these cameras will be added is needing to capture data from their scale t...

zm4ms is a .net 2/3 app and doesnt need admin rights to install (it makes no file system changes) so if you have .net 2 upwards then your fine. Great news. But that still does not help me here. I still have to get approval from the corporate IT department to install it, they still will take a year ...
