Re: Geovision GV-800 works in Windows but not Linux (Fedora)
There's no UI in my setup. It's a stripped-down server-based install of Fedora, because the standard install dumps tons of stuff on it that just eats up CPU time. :) So that's not going to be easy to help troubleshoot with...I'll try a slower frame rate. In the meantime...(pulling this from my posti...

Geovision GV-800 works in Windows but not Linux (Fedora)
Trying to get a Geovision GM-800 running in Fedora Core 14 with ZM 1.24. I almost constantly get HSYNC errors in /var/log/messages and the camera jumps around a lot. I have tried every possible video type (works best in RGB565). It only seems to be the bttv0 that throws the errors. I know that this ...

problems with Kodicom 4400
Still messing with cards in my new server, and I'm having lots of issues. My current plan is to move my Kodicom 4400 over from my current working system to the new server. Original server was running Fedora Core 10, new server is running Fedora Core 14. It doesn't seem to be picking up the card. Her...

Re: curious problem with bttv buffers on Geovision card

curious problem with bttv buffers on Geovision card
I'm installing a new server with a Geovision card in it (GV-800), on Fedora Core 14. The default config picks up the card just fine, but the buffers seemed low. I created a /etc/modprobe.d/bttv.conf file and put the single line in it: options bttv gbuffers=64 and I get the odd problem that the buffe...

Looks like that fixed it.
When was that requirement introduced? I don't remember ever having to do that in the past. It's also not in the README.Fedora file.

new install - blank screen - SOLVED
So I'm doing a new server install and am hoping to migrate the current setup onto it. Big problem. After installing zoneminder and mysql, there are no errors and ZM is running, but when I browse to http://<ip>/zm I get a blank screen....nothing. If I go to the web server without the ZM page, Apache ...

how to backup/restore database?
I am looking to migrate my ZM setup to a new server (dual 3.0GHz with hyperthreading, as opposed to my current setup of dual 3.0GHz without), and was hoping there was an easy way to backup my database config (including all zones per camera) and then just restore it on the new server. It would be ext...

would this CPU help me out
I'm currently running what I believe is a Pentium D 915 (dual-core, 2.8Ghz, overclocked to ~3.2GHz, 2x2MB cache). It runs 4 cameras with motion detection and multiple zones quite well. As soon as I add a fifth camera, the whole thing goes south. Cameras start recording and never stop, the ZMC thread...

200 lines via analog
Bummer. I've tried bumping the number of captures per frame (saw this suggestion in a past posting), and that did help, but only slightly.
So the only way around this is the digital camera at 480 line capture? Thanks for the info.

blurry screen grabs at 640x480
My cameras are all a minimum of 420 lines, but whenever there's motion during the capture, i get what seems like interlacing where there is motion between frames. I realize that regular NTSC is only 200 lines, but shouldn't that be irrelevant when grabbing with a 400+ line camera? Since I'm not good...
