Re: CPU / GPU requirements
It's not just RAM but CPU as well. You need both. No free lunch. Look at the RPI. The RPI4 and RPI3 are about comparable in performance with ZM. It doesn't matter much even if you add the 4GB of RAM for RPI4, in my experience. CPU is the bottleneck. GPU is not used with ZM. There is no such thing as...

Re: GV800 16 CH shows the same image over all channels
You are better off using an IP Video Encoder instead of bttv cards.
See: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Hardware_Co ... eo_Encoder
Used ones can be obtained for reasonable prices.

Re: Basic camera/zm settings (I read all the FAQ's)
For H264 encoding and passthrough, read this to get an understanding. You should use passthrough if possible for a performance gain. Encode is for MJPEG cameras, typically. https://zoneminder.readthedocs.io/en/stable/userguide/definemonitor.html#storage-tab For the zones configuration, this is the l...

Re: Problem adding storage
I don't know how many cameras you have or how often you'll be recording... I came here to search around for settings and tweaks because my ZM is recording almost constantly and I'm filling up discs like crazy. Orders of magnitude, I have two cameras and I'm recording a couple hundred gigs a day. I ...

This is not an error that comes up often. You can always reinstall. Have you tried a different browser?
What OS, and how did you install?

Re: Zoneminder in Debian 10
If you are using an RPI, the Raspbian repositories have 1.32.3 for Debian 10.

Re: Camera Recording Setup 1 Frame Idle 7 Frame Alert
In order to detect motion off of 1FPS and record 7FPS, you should be able to use two sources under something called Linked Monitors . Search the forums and you will find what you are looking for. Here's a link with more information on how to configure Linked Monitors properly: https://forums.zonemin...

Re: zmNinja Old Versions
Thanks for the help. It looks like it is possible on Android, but not on iphones (the only option I saw was to update all apps manually, which is illogical - I can't have the users doing that). Hopefully this becomes possible in the future, because if I setup a company with 5-10 iphones, I'll be in ...

zmNinja Old Versions
What is the process for pinning old versions of zmNinja for an Android or iphone? My use case, is that I have a server that I don't want to necessarily upgrade, and yet I want to use zmNinja. I'm afraid that if I use it the automatic updates of the phone will eventually break compatibility between t...

Re: foscam connection
Check the wiki for info on Foscams. They can be troublesome when updating them. I know some of them require individual updates to go in order. Quite tricky, and slow. You might have a counterfeit model. Some of them require activex to edit the settings via web. There is likely an API. You could ask ...

Re: Newbie help request about server install
Each single site has to configured following Server Installation instructions or it could be simple installed as a stand alone site and in a second time connected, with all the other three sites, to the headquarter? As mentioned, there are a few ways to do this, whether you use the :multi-server&qu...

Re: Zoneminder best practices
1. I plan to install a ZoneMinder server on centos 7. I imagine to use 2 network interfaces : - eth0 to access to the admin ZM web interface and video clients, (users subnet, can go to internet) - eth1, a subnet only for ip cameras and switchs (cannot go to internet) Is that possible ? Will the vid...

Re: ZM 1.32.3 (and 1.33.1) - bug on replay recorded JPEG images
My reply was to roadster. Pat2, I've read through this thread quickly, usually in this case it's a problem of an incorrect installation, or a less supported distribution. Those not familiar with ZM are advised to use a supported Ubuntu, or Debian following the installation guides on the wiki https:/...

Try adjusting pre event image count and let us know if that resolves it.

Re: ZM 1.32.3 (and 1.33.1) - bug on replay recorded JPEG images
I can see the live feed of my cameras, but no events, stills or frames... It says in the frame, where the video should be displayed: video could not be loaded either because the server or network failed. ARM ZM can't use H264 encoding, but by default on new installations it is selected in 1.32.3. G...
