Buffer settings will not override this setting: "Section Length This specifies the length (in seconds) of any fixed length events produced when the monitor function is ‘Record’ or ‘Mocord’. Otherwise it is ignored. This should not be so long that events are difficult to navigate nor so ...

Only experienced with DCS-900a's; bring up an instance of your browser and enter camera IP. Then enter credentials to access; with camera displayed, right click on picture and make note of the path. Enter in path of camera in ZM monitor configuration path entry. My experience with DCS-900's (lot's o...

I'm with you Gary. -44 to plus 35 in 12 hours and not a single dropped frame. No enclosures; no pampering at all, just good ole robotic mass production, makes the 70's seem stoic. Now if I could only get the banks turbocharger to work on my snowblower...

The first thing to buy is a chunk of oak stairway handrail about 4' in length. Then don't skimp on hardware; the PV-149 from bluecherry allows for expansion and is supported by both the bluecherry live cd and any of Ross Melin's masterpieces (all are rock solid; I'm currently running the PCLinuxOS l...

Leon - Yes ZM does exactly what you want. I've experienced your issue with both 1.21.3 and 1.22.3 and in both cases it was a camera issue (jumpy or grainy artifact ridden picture) causing the continuous record. In both cases I initially blamed my abilities and in both cases a large hammer solved the...

RDMelin has turned out another masterpiece! 48 hours on ZMLinuxOS live cd and no issues at all! Installed easily on older socket A hardware, boot time is very fast, load is down to .5 on four cameras at 640 X 480, configuration is nearly identical with what I would normally use, and PCLinuxOS is my ...

Take a look at this: http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11681 (bttv issue?); also bluecherry isn't using newer versions of Ubuntu because of ffmepg issues (probably not the answer to your question). There is plenty of information on both of these issues in these forums and many more de...

It's good to ask questions!

I bought a similar card (not this one but just as cheap from the same locale and from ebay) which I couldn't make work with Linux or windows. I went to the supporting web site and downloaded the drivers supposed to work with both. I ended up with an open port 80 (which I couldn't close) and a limite...

RDMelin's release of ZMLiveCD 1.23.3

I have taken Ross up on his offer to establish a torrent based on his remastered 1.22.3 live cd upgraded to 1.23.3. The torent is available at Linixtracker.org. Thanks Ross, Phil, and James Wilson for making this happen!

What is the native resolution of the Axis camera that you are using (or which model of camera)? Which version of zoneminder and Linux? Axis cameras (some) are well discussed in these forums and generally reported to work under ZM. I can report that using Ross' 1.21.3 live cd set to motion detection ...

Several suggestions: first start with only one camera by disabling the others. Second, because this is a ip cam you should select the source type as remote (so there will be no option for /dev/video0 as a source; so I'm confused between your settings and what firefox is showing you). Third: I'm unfa...

Linuxtracker.org still has active (semi) torrents for ZM versions, 1.21.3 (25 copies), 1.22.2.1 (15 copies), and 1.22.3 (35 copies) since the sites major upgrade. The old hardware explanation explains some of this but the sheer stability and functionality of Ross's creations are legendary!

Linuxtracker.org has this torrent along with 1.22.2.1 & 1.21.3. I reloaded these torrents after a major upgrade of the site dumped all previously upped torrents in January 08. There are currently 2 seeds (1 from Germany & 1 from US) both of us welcome more seeds although demand is currently ...
