Did you OnVIF the camera? Set the monitor up manually?
Open the camera in VLC and check the actual pixel count; cameras often lie, and you gotta have it exact.

Re: RFE: Montage Review
FWIW, most of this stuff happened in the last 2 years, except 4 (which I think has been handled a different way) and 6... which would still be nice; it's basically global-gapless-playback. I may (or may not) have time this fall to stick my head into that issue. :-}

Disregard; further investigation shows that you can rearrange *the monitors in the console*, and Montage Review tracks.
I even figured out how to put in a blank placeholder to keep my 1st/2nd/3rd floor placings pretty relevant.

Re: Path /data/zoneminder does not exist.
I see that you put /data/zoneminder in the configs, but I *don't* see that you say you did a mkdir to actually *create the directory* /data/zoneminder.
I don't believe ZM will create it for you.
What does
$ ls -d /data/zoneminder
say?

Re: Dahua / Alhua 4K camera works
Note that there's been some question whether Dahua/Alhua cameras are phoning home to China; it's always a good idea not to give your cameras a valid default gateway IP, unless your network topology requires it -- most don't.

Re: How to disable PTZ motion detection durning camera movement
Hey, waitaminnit.
Didn't I see, while poring over the config options on my recently upgraded 1.32, that there's a "number of seconds not to throw an alarm after a PTZ move on a camera" setting?
In short, isn't this problem already fixed?

Re: Looking for the right camera
We're using TrendNet (Hikvision) IP-314PIs. They go up to 4k, but I'm running them at 720p for bandwidth and disk space reasons, and even at 720p, they're spectacular. Great colors, great greyscale; they don't oversharpen, and we haven't had a camera lock up 24/7 for 3 years, running them PoE off a ...

Re: Upgrading 1.30.2 to 1.32.3 on U18.04
And I want to pass along my compliments on the new skinning too; it looks very pretty. One question: I saw "rearrange montage" in the release notes, is that only the straight Montage, not the Montage Review? I tend to prefer the latter, as it isn't as sensitive to "concurrent stream&q...

Re: Update to 1.32.3 error
The GRANT fix early in this thread worked for me as well, sorting a broken PPA-based upgrade from 1.30.2, to 1.32.3, as covered in a thread elsewhere.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Upgrading 1.30.2 to 1.32.3 on U18.04
There was a missing GRANT on my DB, likely. I followed the instructions here , and reran zmupdate.pl as root, and it ran ok this time, and zm restarted and I can access it, and all my monitors are there, and all is well. Perhaps those commands should be added to the update script? Sidenote: it reall...

Re: Upgrading 1.30.2 to 1.32.3 on U18.04
Well, what a bummer. A number of steps in the autoupgrade failed, not including the DB upgrades, and for some reason, all the logging scroll has disappeared out of my terminal scrollback buffer, so I can't see (or post) it. Does the autoupgrade script tee that off to somewhere? The most important pa...

In work. Turns out that the old PPA file in the sources-list.d was automagically disabled by... somebody.

Oh, this is systemd-related?
systemd is evil. I'll stick with the mounts I have. Thanks.

Re: Performance tuning time
I see I never followed up on this.
I ended up replacing the box with the 4-core i7 it should have been in the first place; I now idle at .8 and don't break 4 with a 12-camera montage review up.
My thanks to all the people who contributed.
