Re: web_php.log & Fail2Ban -Solved-

!!Update to fail2ban regex!!

The regex for zoneminder needs to read:

Code: Select all

failregex = ^\s*web_php\[\d+\]\.ERR \[<HOST>\].*includes/auth.php
datepattern = ^%%m/%%d/%%y %%H:%%M:%%S(?:\.%%f)
This gets both no user AND failed password.
Must have been a change somewhere along the way.

Re: RTSP (HikVision) not work after upgrade

Ok, but if before works, why now not works?
You were probably just lucky.
I use ffmpeg on all my 50+ Hikvisions

...and on 1.36.5 they are all working great.

Re: USB dedicated storage question

Yes, you will need to set ownership of your new storage location to your webserver's user:group or zoneminder won't be able to write events to the storage area.

Re: Downleveling to 1.36.xx from 1.37.xx

There is typically no graceful way to downgrade ZM.

You're best bet is to purge and reinstall.
You might even need to rebuild the server.

Re: web_php.log & Fail2Ban

!!Solution!!

Need to have LOG_LEVEL_FILE set to at least Error in Options.Logging.

This makes total sense when you think about it...

Re: web_php.log & Fail2Ban

Okay two systems, two results.
I upgraded a 1.34 server to 1.36 and web_php.log is there.
The initial system (which prompted this post) was a from scratch build and it's not there...

I'll repeat the experiment on some VM's... stand by....

web_php.log & Fail2Ban -Solved- NEW REGEX -

In 1.34, fail2ban worked by monitoring /var/log/zm/web_php.log.

In 1.36, this log does not exist.

Is this a change in ZM or a config in PHP?

From scratch install running php7.4, UB20.04 & NGINX on both...

Re: Audio in playback of recorded events from RTSP streams not working

Look at how your camera is setup to encode the audio. G.711ulaw works on ZM

If you're playing back the video on your workstation with a decoder that supports whatever your camera is kicking out, that might be why you get audio in a player but it's not recorded on ZM.

Re: Need help with nodect understanding

I use the linked monitors for all of my family installs, however I've always used "Modect" on the lowres stream, then "Nodect" on the hires stream. I don't know how well it works with "Mocord" on the lowres stream. If you have differing frame rates between the two strea...

Re: Linked Monitors and OD <Best Practice> Discussion

So, I've been running this config for several days (since the original post) and am surprised at how well OD works on the low res cams. I'll keep this config and just rely on the HiRes monitors for "Forensic" review and live feeds. Next I'll move on to LPR and Facial recognition. Curious i...

Re: How to fix the zoneminder fill up rootsystem 100%

In ZM it's Options.Storage.AddNewStorage.
Point it to your new mount you created (either new drive or moved partitions)

Then go to each camera config and on the storage tab, select the storage you created above.

Re: Zoom and Pan

Correct.
Click zooms and centers around the point of the click.
zoom back out, re-aim and fire again ;)

Unless you're in zmNinja then it just center zooms no mater where you click.

Re: Frames from events are not showing

Start by debugging in the browser and the path (url) to the "non-working" image.
Work that back to the file system and check rights and ownership.

Re: Improve motion detection using pre-recorded videos?

I presume you have linked the Primary stream (aka monitor) to the secondary monitor. If so: No. Spend the time to get modect working the way you want on the secondary monitor. In addition to the docs (which must be read slowly and thoroughly), check out these https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Various_ZM_t...
