Found the error log (/var/log/apache2/error.log) The log is huge! This is the last bit (it's still big!) which it wrote after attempting to export just 1 event from camera 1... Sorry, I don't know how to attach a file (perhaps someone could tell me that as well) [Sat Jul 10 15:58:45 2010] [error] [c...

Unable to update
In zmupdate.log I have a lot of lines similar to this one: 09/07/10 23:20:05.675020 zmupdate[4110].INF [Checking for updates] 09/07/10 23:20:05.677326 zmupdate[4110].ERR [Error check failed: '500 Can't connect to www.zoneminder.com:80 (Bad hostname 'www.zoneminder.com')'] What does it mean and how c...

Deleting files older than 90 days
I managed to do this in a previous installation, but had to install a new hard drive (see http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=21 ) I think I had the purge when full filter set as shown: http://www.braffertonguesthouse.co.uk/event.png (hope this picture thingy works!) Anyway, do I have t...

I spoke too soon Obviously the original exported file is still sitting somewhere and stopping the new file being made as it will be called the same name. Is there some way to stop this? I've removed zmexport.zip from /tmp and I still get export failed However, if I export as a tar, it will succeed b...

O.K. Lucid installed - that was a ball ache! All of a sudden I have no display drivers and my refresh rate is 0 hertz. After bumming around the various forums trying to stop a blank screen on boot, I managed to see what was on the monitor (12 hours) Installation of Zoneminder about 3 hours using Syn...

Thanks everyone! As camroid suggested, I offered the hard drive to the police and they snapped it up. They brought a computer guy with them and he was happy to send it over to Computer Forensics. Things were getting too complicated as I switched the computer off yesterday, only to find that the PSU ...

Tried new temp directory owned by www-data. Still no joy. I switched additional debug on, set the level to 5 and looked at zm_debug.log and it doesn't seem to record anything about exporting. And yes, I am really, really desperate. Forensics have just been, and I couldn't hand anything over to them.

ZM_PATH_WEB is /usr/share/zoneminder just to confuse things. www-data has the permissions, but I've allowed read/write, create/delete files in the aforementioned directories. Still no joy. Is there a fault log I can look at? Shall I change the path to /var/cache/zoneminder/temp ? as /usr/share/zonem...
