Re: Lost all network cameras
I've also lost access to all my cameras today and I can't replay any saved events. I was already using 1.29 from iconnor without a problem (Ubuntu 15.10 server, using http://ppa.launchpad.net/iconnor/zoneminder-master/ubuntu wily main), but a new update popped up today, which I installed. The versi...

Re: Lost all network cameras
Are you setting up the drive with LVM? Actually 14.04 will give you ZM 1.26.5. 15.10 will give you 1.28.1 if you do not add the PPA. As long as you are having problems with Ubuntu may I recommend you try CentOS 7. I recently switched my production server to CentOS and I feel it runs a bit smoother t...

Re: Stream error
I have a ZM server that several users access to keep an eye on things in the building. I've noticed that some folks will log into ZM with Firefox then open the montage. Then they go back to the original Firefox window and move off of the ZM page. And the same socket send to errors start. They really...

Re: Web Gui stops working when console is started
Well, it could be the one that pushes your system over the edge. Ubuntu, by default, uses half of the RAM for tmpfs or RAM drive. ZM uses this memory space (/run/shm in 14.04) to process images. Do a "df" to see how much of this space is being used. The higher the camera resolution the mor...

Re: Web Gui stops working when console is started
How much ram do you have? It is possible that with 16 cameras you are running out of ram. Your database may also be grabbing a lot of ram. I run 16 cameras on 12 gig of ram with the resolution turned down to 320x240

Re: DB Error on clean install
You may ignore the error message. Continue with the install procedure as cited in the WIKI and set up the database manually. The error is the result of the auto database setup being removed from the install. It was decided to make the Ubuntu installs like the Debian installs and our wonderful packag...

I run Webmin on CentOS7 with no issues. Yes, there was a learning curve as there is when you try new things. Your system timezone is set when you first install the OS...Centos does it, Ubuntu does it as well as all the other Linux distros. Now, if you are in the middle of the time zone the location ...

Did you upgrade your database and permissions?
Change permissions in your "ZM database to allow the creation of a table
mysql -uroot -p -e "grant all on zm.* to 'zmuser'@localhost identified by 'zmpass';"
Run the database upgrade
/usr/bin/zmupdate.pl

Re: Zoneminder 1.29.0
I just ran the 14.04 install and it worked as it always has worked. As for the password the only place I mention a password is when you install the database and that is the password you set for MySQL. The second procedure does allow for you to use other than the default user and password Zoneminder ...
