Re: Is it possible to stream 1 zoneminder server into anothe
I do exactly this on an intranet to provide feeds for an old camera that will only allow one client. It works, is well proven, and I'm sorry but you're not the first to think of it. :) Although, if you were designing such a system, anyone sane would just use IP cameras and negate the need to have se...

Re: shmmax and 46 cameras
It's a per-camera value, not for all cameras.
The size depends on the biggest resolution of your biggest camera - so read the wiki'd FAQ and increase steadily until it works and the errors go away.

Re: Does zoneminder work?
Yes, it works. I have five zm servers running 1.24.2 on debian. Using ZM to move cameras is not simple. ZM provides the tools for pantilt but does require work to tailor them to whichever of the hundreds of different standards ip cameras adhere to. I can't advise on this as I use fixed ip cameras, o...

Re: Full screen UI for system
I've built systems that autorun Firefox which autoloads either zoneminder interface or an ip camera montage (see http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/IpCamMontage ). With FF running fullscreen it's pretty much as you describe.

Re: zm not work
Zoneminder isn't installed correctly.
How to resolve depends a lot on your distribution, ZM version and how you installed it - from source or packages.

Re: custom montage
Um, you wouldn't use frame tags - use img instead;
<img src="/cgi-bin/nph-zms?mode=jpeg&monitor=11&scale=100&maxfps=15&buffer=1000">
Reduce scale and fps to suit and add quotes around the path.

Re: custom montage
An individual feed rather than a montage? Open up the monitor for that camera in ZM Console. Right-click the image and 'View image'. You should then get a mjpeg streaming feed that can be bookmarked, or included in <img> tags in a html page to combine several in any way you want. The url itself can ...

Re: Zoneminder Web Interface is really slow
If you're not a mysql expert (I'm not!) then phpmyadmin is a useful tool - it'll allow you to click a button to repair a broken mysql table, backup, inspect - lots of stuff. (Don't expose it to the internet though, it's quite heavily targetted by the bad guys). Most tables are repairable that way wi...

Alternatively, adjust the shared memory as per the FAQ on the Wiki. It's quite easy and quick to do.

Re: Zoneminder Web Interface is really slow
Several possibles spring to mind: Free memory is low. CPU is high. 1.43 on a 2.0 nominal system will still affect performance. SSD won't make much difference in this case since the delays in loading ZM's console are mostly in ram as well as disk (a large number of sql queries are required). Apache i...

Thanks for the details. I've added the camera to my database at digdilem.org/cameras alongside another Vivotek - path the same but I think that's a lower res.

Re: Monitor Stream doesn't work
Apache's logs first. /var/log/apache/error_log is debian's place. Also access_log
Then syslog, and you may need to turn logging on in zm's console.

Re: Is translating done on a voluntary basis?
As far as I know, nobody has ever gotten paid for their work on zoneminder. It's a free product and carries neither advertising nor sponsorship, I don't know where you expected the money to come from unless there are enough potential arabic users to fund you, but frankly it goes against the ethos of...

Re: Want to get tracking working.
As far as I'm aware, this is beyond the scope of Zoneminder. It's possible some people have managed to find a way and may post and prove me wrong, but I've not heard of it and can't see how it could work reliably without a lot of hacking and restricting it to a specific camera. Also I rate life expe...
