Re: Zoneminder fails to start - mysql error

If the web server is not showing the webpage, that may mean apache isn't configured correctly. Did you enable the zoneminder config? It may not be necessary with the latest install scripts, but if they failed for some reason, it can be done manually. Enabling config is often a2enconf zoneminder. Web...

In that case, refer to these links for starters, I found by going to special pages on the wiki (left sidebar), choosing all pages, and then searching for bttv https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Bttv https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Bttv_devices_(bt848,_bt878) Feel free to report back what ...

Re: Can't get the web interface to work

But how long can the configuration take, hours?? No, a few minutes at most. Can anyone give me some help? You indicated that you don't know how to login to the docker container. It seems you're missing a basic understanding of Docker. Either read a book on Docker, or just use ZM without it. Docker ...

Re: Adapting Amcrest Cameras Systems - AXIS M7016?

Trying to run 150 cameras on one server... I've never done that so can't say. With enough grunt it could be done. The more cameras you have, the more cores you'll need (with 2010's or newer mobo). BUT, an easier/safer way is to just split the cameras across multiple servers. You can either use the o...

Re: Conexant card configuration help (NCP3200v1 i think)

IMO, you should use an IP Video encoder, and not mess with the PCI card. Problem solved. I edited the HCL to include a note on this. I've mentioned it in the forums a number of times. https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Hardware_Compatibility_List If you are inclined to troubleshoot this card regardless, I ...

sometimes it is not recording but it should (not detecting) if light goes on it detects (false positive) if detecting correct motion video is smooth at the beginning but after 5 seconds it lags for like 3 seconds and continues afterwards smooth RPI is covered in http://wiki.zoneminder.com/Single_Bo...

Re: ability to rerun a video through detection process

I would vote that ZM make only one long video from multiple videos. E.g. you can specify a sequential date range, and then output one encoded .mp4 file. This is actually possible now with some scripts on the forum to do timelapse (for jpeg files), though I haven't tried it. The rest could be handled...

Re: Raspberry PI cam setup (local, on board with the zoneminder install)

General RPI info is covered in wiki.zoneminder.com/Single_Board_Computers For the camera, there are numerous guides online that cover setup. Did you search? https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/10480/raspi-camera-board-and-motion#26386 I recommend you test in ffmpeg or vlc first (probably...

Re: Adapting Amcrest Cameras Systems - AXIS M7016?

I’ll get the M7016 and give it a try. Hopefully it’ll work relatively easily. I’ll set it up in the office and then spread it out at the properties. This is the right way to go. Don't bother with the BTTV or PCI cards. 1. Is it likely that this (https://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/...

Re: Can't get the web interface to work

Did you let the zoneminder container initialize fully before you accessed it? i.e. If you restart a container while it's starting for the first time, it can break things... Homepage URL is http://localhost:80/zm/, not whatever you had. Although you might try http://localhost:8080/zm Docker will rout...

Re: Thank you and zone sensitivity

Get rid of JPEG analysis images, do modect only on the low res stream, and record on the high res stream (or nodect via linked monitors). Make sure X isn't running... Disable speculative execution mitigations... There's always tuning that can be done. Consumer motherboards / CPUs don't fair too well...
