Many thanks, PHP working again

Once again, many thanks - all working again. I suspect as I'd never touched the php.ini file before it just overwrote the previous default with the new one. Everything else seemed to upgrade fine.

Cheers, Philip.

Any known problems with PHP 5.2.5?

I've just updated to SuSE 10.3 from 10.2 and can't get ZoneMinder to behave - the web pages display incorrectly, even the initial page has text like '<?=zmSlangRefresh ?> in one of the buttons. I'm no PHP expert but it seems to me that there is either a PHP incompatibility or something has moved so ...

You were right, many thanks - I just needed to find the right place to put the option, and it was in the default-server.conf file and not httpd.conf which fooled me for a while. I now understand the way Apache works a little better! Thanks again - now have a system with lots of disk space! Cheers, P...

Thank you - I'd arrived at the same conclusion and I've been browsing the Apache manual for the right syntax - but concluded that Boxing day might give more opportunity than Christmas day. I'll let you know when I've fixed it, your help is much appreciated, this forum is great for that. Cheers, Phil...

Thanks very much, that has fixed the problem and I don't know why I hadn't tried that - sorry if I was being dumb! :D I have one residual problem - I can now view the recorded events if I click on the event ID or the event name (which I'm sure are the same anyway). If I click on the 'Frames' then tr...

Problem when events file is symbolic link elsewhere

I've had 1.22.3 working fine, but was running out of space and had plenty in /home, so I put a symbolic link called /srv/www/htdocs/events to point to /home/zoneminder/events - it's a SuSE 10.2 system. I also changed the path for events to /home/zoneminder/events Now I can't view any events though t...

Filters in background - the solution

Ok, I've sorted it, and I guess it was my fault I didn't resolve it myself in the first place. I DID have a zmfilter.log file, but it was empty, because zmfilter.pl bombed out too soon, in line 81 to be precise, which is something to do with MIME : Lite. I'd asked it to email me details of events wi...

Phil, Thanks for helping me with this. As I said in my earlier post, zmfilter.log doesn't exist on my system. Also debug level is already set to 1 - I can see from /va/log/messages that zmfilter starts but terminates prematurely with that error code of 9, but I can't find anything else to help. All ...

Filters in background

I'm having trouble getting filters to run in background. I've defined a new filter which deletes any event with a zero score, and it runs fine when you 'execute' it manually, but checking the 'background' option doesn't make it run periodically. I have no zmfilter.log file either to look in, don't k...

I installed 1.21.3 over the weekend and it's now run long enough to be sure this is fixed in the release. Many thanks!

I've tried manually configuring the cards in modporbe.conf and using YAST, the SUSE set-up tool. Cards are configured as you say - 77,77 and tuner 4,4. The first card behaves fine and the second doesn't. When I had 3 cards in, the third one wouldn't work at all - I wonder if it's a limitation of res...

Did you find an answer to this? My problem is similar, and I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the bttv driver and not zoneminder. Scenario is : Brooktree 878 cards : card=77 with no tuner. (Grantec Multi-capture cards). 2 cards in the machine, 6 cameras. 1st card has 4 B&W cameras and I c...

Thanks for that - I suppose looking up 'patch' in my 'Linux in a nutshell' would have been logical, but I took the 'quick and dirty' option. All part of the learning experience! I'm glad it solved the problem as I've lost no more events since.

I've got my installation set up with the 6 cameras, 2 in colour now. Overnight it ran for 9 hours with 4 cameras, no lost events. I then reconfigured it for the 6 cameras and it has run for 7 hours with no lost events. I think that is conclusive!

Thanks very much, Phil!

So far, so good - after 7 events (10 moins each) all four cameras have a 'full house' - with some alarms as the neighbour rang the doorbell!
